Fire Extinguishers, Fires, Security and Pest Control Tips

American Total Protection is your single source for both your fire and security needs . At ATP Fire , one of the products they sell and service is fire extinguishers. Fire extinguishers single handily serve purposes of fire protection , security protection , and pest control . As mentioned in previous blogs, fire extinguishers are a handy tool in fighting crime. “I have heard stories of fire extinguishers being used to back off invaders or break up fights . The cloud of powder that is projected from the hose of the fire extinguishers causes irritation to the eyes and throat and makes it difficult for one to see or breathe.”

Fire Extinguishers are comprised of multiple types of chemical , sizes , and exerting pressure . The chemical types can be either a dry based powder chemical, a wet liquid chemical, or a gaseous chemical. All types are made of formulas of products that mixed together give it an element of fire elimination. These chemicals can be in agent cylinders ranging in sizes of 2.5, 5, 6, 9, 10, 15.5, 20, 125, 150, and 350 lb units. The agent cylinders will be pressurized with a type of gas (usually nitrogen or argon). These cylinders depending on the size and type of chemical storing will have a variety of pressure inside them to allow the power of exerting the chemical up the pickup tub and out the discharge hose of the extinguisher.

These chemicals are not only good for fires and security protection, but also make a good quick use for pest control . No matter what part of the world you live in, pests of all types and sizes are crawling around. Sometimes these pests are harmful and sometimes their harmless but taking inhabitances in the wrong places. Harmful ones like wasps or bees have potential to make nests in and around where they come into contact with people. Small pets or children could be in danger if stumbling upon a large quantity of these pests with no protection. Stories have been told, heard, and seen about the use of fire protection on these pests. A dry chemical multipurpose fire extinguisher is a quick and effective chemical in terminating these pests. A fast spray of the chemical on the pests and the nest quickly terminates them.

Fire extinguishers are a multi-use tool that can be used for much more than just fires. ATP Fire has a wide variety of sizes and types for sale. If you have never used one, feel free to swing by their offices for a free demonstration and our home fire extinguisher special.
