Why Should You Go Green on St. Patrick’s Day?

The St. Patrick’s Day celebrations are a good reminder of how meeting friends and family and having a few drinks, the simple things in life, are usually the best. The Emerald Isle flags we see all over the world are also a reminder that going green is a good idea – for many reasons. Not only are we helping to protect the planet by reducing our carbon footprint, but we’re also saving plenty of money in the process . So why do so many of us still not consider these things?

Quite simply, it’s only laziness which stops people from ‘ going green ’. If we look at the benefits and seriously think about it, then there’s no reason to do anything else (unless we really want to give more money to oil & energy companies for no reason!) It’s what we could now refer to as a ‘no-brainer’, as the technology and systems are very much available and very affordable to house and business owners. You don’t necessarily have to install giant solar panels or wind turbines in your back garden – there are plenty of other smart technologies available which can make a big difference over time.

Going green could be something as simple as taking more control over your home or workplace . Are you wasting fuel and money by having heating or cooling systems which run when nobody’s there? Perhaps the sunlight is overheating your home when the shades are left open. With automatic, timed or remotely operated shades and heating/cooling systems, all of these scenarios are a thing of the past. You can optimize your home or workplace to minimize the use of heating and cooling depending on your own lifestyle and daily patterns. Once you are saving money in this green way, you’ll have a little more to help you enjoy St. Patrick’s Day for years to come ! Remember, this is real life ; you need a real security company .
