What are UL Listed Central Monitoring Stations?

As I write this blog I am sitting in the conference room at our central monitoring station , COPS Monitoring . COPS is a UL listed central monitoring station with stations in New Jersey, Florida, Arizona, Tennessee, and Texas. As evident from its certification (“UL”) and its multiple locations, COPS has the knowledge and redundancy to satisfy over a million customers. In addition to having 5 strategically located monitoring stations, COPS also utilizes a data center in Las Vegas that is viewed as one of the world’s largest and most reliable ( SuperNAP ).

Redundancy is extremely important when considering an alarm company. With the recent storms our country has experienced, ATP Alarms is very fortunate to have a central station that takes such pride in providing consistent and redundant monitoring services. For example, when the North East was affected by Hurricane Sandy, we were able to consciously streamline the calls to the monitoring station in Arizona. In doing so, our customers experienced the same fast response time that they are accustomed to.

Equally important as redundancy is the quality of the employees . COPS management is constantly training and certifying its operators and staff. Utilizing a certification for operators from 1-6, this department is constantly striving to improve. On site, COPS has a room dedicated just to training.

After my tour of the COPS monitoring facility, it is clear that the company has invested heavily in the infrastructure. Boasting more than 40,000 square feet, the building is extremely organized and security. Over the years, COPS has called Williamstown, New Jersey, home and the company has become a staple in the community. After speaking with various managers, it became evident that each employee was trained and promoted internally. This allows American Total Protection to have access to a staff that truly knows the business inside and out.

The American Total Protection and COPS relationship is constantly evolving. Our teams are in contact on a daily basis in order to service our customers effectively. By having a very transparent and involved relationship, ATP is constantly discovering ways to better services that meet our customers’ needs. After visiting COPS facility, I am even more confident that our customers are in the right hands.

Are you a current customer and have a question or comment on how we can better service you? Please feel free to leave a comment on our website and we will address it immediately.

The first step to controlling access to your building is the door(s) employees or visitors may enter through. In the morning, do you unlock these doors for the day? Do you leave it locked throughout the day? Who is responsible for these tasks?
