Tips for Springtime Cleaning to be Springtime Safe

With spring here, homeowners should be taking extra precautions and extra notice of their surroundings. Below you will find some useful tips to follow to stay springtime clean, springtime safe .

1. Some people still practice “ Spring Cleaning ”. Now that spring is here, people tend to perform an intense cleaning of their homes. Some even put “winter carpets” away in exchange for “spring carpets”. Through cleaning and moving rugs and furniture, there will be a lot of dust in your home. 2. Go over your safety plan with your family . A safety plan will cover what to do if there is a fire. If you have young children, it is important that they understand what to do in case of an emergency. This is also a good time to go over your home security system with your youngsters. You should explain: how to arm the alarm, how to disarm the alarm, the passwords, and also the necessary panic codes. 3. When spring arrives, homeowners tend to do more and more yard work. This is a common occurrence and thieves are ready to capitalize on expensive items being left outside. 5. If you have a pool, make sure that you have a proper notification system for your doors leading outside. Although your cover will still be on, it is still a danger to young children or those that do not know how to swim. Some states require this type of notification system. Regardless of your local rules and regulations, it is a good idea to have some type of notification system in place. This means a chime through your alarm system or an independent notification system.
