3 Questions to Ask Before Choosing a Home Security Provider

There are the usual questions that anyone should ask a new security provider or contractor. How long have they been in business? Are they licensed and insured. These are standard questions that we all know.

What we want to know from our  home security provider  are about systems in place to protect us and make our lives easier. It’s simple for them to say they are a licensed home security provider. After all, it is a requirement to operate. But, what are the services that you can provide that will be convenient and durable for me?

So, here are 3 questions to ask before choosing a home security provider. They can be the differentiating factor if you think you have two strong candidates for your home security company.

The Questions to Ask

1. Will they service what they install?
Some home security providers will outsource servicing of the equipment they install in your home. This can be good if they do not have the internal capacity to maintain the system at a high level themselves.

But what about you? Wouldn’t you prefer to work with a company where there are accountability and reliability in the people you work with? Who wants a revolving door of contractors instead of working with the company you chose to do business with?

2. Do they also provide smart/home automated systems?
This may seem a bit strange for a home security provider. But, the reason you want to know this is that you can have systems that work with each other. If your home security and automation systems are compatible, it makes it easier for you to understand the system as well as use it.

With a company that does both, you only need one company for servicing, you can get better rates for package deals, and there won’t be any concern about which contractor is responsible for aspects of your  home security  and automation system.

3. Do they provide 24-hour monitoring?
This is an important aspect of home security. When you have a company that provides 24-hour monitoring through a central monitoring station, you can be assured that eyes will be on your property when necessary.

You won’t be home all day, and this could be the difference in saving or losing your home and the lives of those you love.
