Fire retardant has been purchased by clients of ATP Fire for many different reasons. Some of these reasons have been to apply on Tiki huts , indoor drapes , clothes around flammable equipment , and certain covers used for covering supplies , equipment , and/or machinery . Large scale applications have also included large event spaces like auditoriums or stage venues . The large mezzanine drapes to the curtains hanging on the stage require certain application methods. ATP Fire helped orchestrate a solution for a college auditorium in these procedures. Certain methods of cleaning had to take place before applying the chemicals.

Tiki huts are a popular item in our Florida territories. From our residential clients to our commercial clients, the Tiki huts have a high potential for fires . Tiki huts are usually made with a wood frame and a roof consisting of layer palm tree branches. These branches once dried and layered makes a great cover for shad and protection from rain. But when the branches are dried out and are not wet from the rain, they become a fire hazard as the braches have the ability to catch fire quickly if introduced to a heat source. As you go to build your first or next Tiki hut, be aware of the surroundings and placement of the Tiki hut. Remember to use ATP Fire’s recommended fire retardant and apply the recommended amount. The application methods and recommended quantities are listed on the chemical bottles. Also be cautious to think if even with the fire retardant applied to the Tiki hut and it still caught on fire, what’s around the Tiki hut that could also catch on fire . It’s a good idea to try and keep a safe distance from your home or business if building a Tiki hut to prevent the spread of fire.
